During his presidency, Ronald Alli actively spearheaded the establishment of a permanent Secretariat to ensure continuity and the effective implementation of the goals and objectives of the ICAC. The establishment of a fully functional Secretariat located in Jamaica was one of the most significant achievements of the ICAC. The Secretariat’s mandate is to facilitate the implementation of the strategic goals of the ICAC and to support the operations of the various regional committees of the Institute.
A past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Guyana (ICAG), he was re-elected President of that Institute in 2013.
He is a partner of Jack A. Alli, Sons & Co., one of the leading public accounting firms in Guyana, in which he carries out duties in the areas of Financial Management and Business Planning, Auditing, Taxation in both the public and private sectors.
Mr. Alli has served as a director of various professional organizations including:
- Member of the Board of Directors of Guyana Sugar Corporation (1993-2008)
- Chairman of the Board of Directors of Guyana Electricity Corporation (1996-1999)
- Member of the Board of Directors of Guyana Agriculture and Development Bank (1993-1995)
- Member of the Board of Directors of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (1994-1995)
- Member of the Board of Directors of Guyana Power & Light (2000-2003)
- Chairman of the Board of Directors of Guyana Power & Light (2003-2007)
He has actively served as a member of the Rotary Club of Georgetown and has held the position of Executive Committee member, Honorary Secretary and President of the Club. He is also a distinguished member of the Georgetown Cricket Club and has served in various capacities including Honorary Treasurer and Vice-President.
