Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC)


With a network of approximately 3,000 professionals, the ICAC is the region's leading organization dedicated to advancing the interest of accountants and professionals in the finance industry within the Caribbean. As a regional body, the ICAC advances the development of the profession through the promotion of internationally acceptable standards and best practices, thought leadership, research and continuing professional development.

 

Mission Statement

ICAC is the internationally recognized body for the accountancy profession in the Caribbean, with an expanding influence in the region. It regulates the profession and promotes the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct. Through thought leadership and the provision of research, CPD (Continuing Professional development) and other services, it adds value to its members and the wider community.

Projects

The ICAC, with a current network of approximately 3,000 professionals, is the leading regional organization dedicated to advancing the interest of accountants and professionals in the finance industry within the Caribbean. In addition to creating an annual forum to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience that benefit finance professionals and business leaders, the ICAC is also taking steps through various initiatives to strengthen and enhance the capacity of the profession.

ICAC Newsletter is published in February, July, and November annually and is currently circulated electronically to a regional market of over 2,600 members as well as to affiliates in England, Canada and the USA.

    In November 2010, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) will host the 18th World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) under the theme, Accountants: Sustaining Value Creation. The WCOA is being held under the sponsorship of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).

 How Do We Function?

 

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean is governed by a Board of Directors. Each territorial Institute appoints a director and an alternate to serve on the ICAC Board for a period of two years.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC) was established under the laws of Jamaica and incorporated as a company on October 28, 1988.
