Media Launch of the ICAC 34th Caribbean Conference of Accountants

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC) and the of Chartered Accountants of Belize (ICA-Belize) jointly hosled the official media launch of the 34th Annual Caribbean Conference of Accountants on February 12, 2016, at the Radisson Fort George Hotel in Belize City, Belize. The ICAC 34th Annual Caribbean Conference will be held in Belize City over the period June 23 — 25, 2016 and is expected to attract more than 300 delegates from the region and internationally.

The Annual Caribbean Conference is the flagship event of the ICAC which brings together leaders in accounting and audit, standard setters, business analysts, government officials and other professionals from the private and public sectors. The Annual Conference features two days of technical sessions led by internationally recognized speakers and experts.

The Conference's technical content will focus on developing to counter the threats of de-risking on the region's banking sector, understanding current incentives available, developing global market potential, and discussing the necessary to ensure the sustainability of Caribbean businesses within the global marketplace.

The 34th Annual Conference theme, "Call of the Champions: Breaking Boundaries in the Marketplace," was ideally chosen to reflect on the advancements that the Caribbean has made while acknowledging that there is sTill a lot more work that is required to unify and advance the region to the next level of global recognition and success," stated Shawn Mahler, Conference Chair and Director, Audit & Assurance Services at Moore Stephens Magafia LLP in Belize.

President of ICA-BeIize, Reynaldo Magafia, further endorsed the theme stating, U Call Of the Champions, is a call for a revolution in the way we do things. It is a call for us to unite, innovate and actively engage the leaders of the region to ensure the growth and success of the region within today's globally competitive environment."

Addressing sponsors and guests at the media launch, ICAC President Jasmine Davis snated, "Under the theme, Call Of the Champions: Breaking Boundaries in the Marketplace, the 34th Annual Caribbean Conference will analyse the regional and global environment in which we do business in an effort to determine strategies that can be employed to demolish the boundaries and promote greater economic Stability and growth in the Caribbean."
